Chinese painting has always been something I wanted to explore. It’s incredibly rich and diverse, and worth turning into a series. Building a solid dataset isn’t easy, though. I spent a lot of time putting together a large one. Compared to truly large datasets, it’s still quite small, but it’s the biggest I’ve used to train a LoRA so far. The dataset is still being refined, and I’m releasing this first version **as an early preview**. I’ll keep improving it and release updated versions, including ones based on different base models.

ZIT already does pretty well with Chinese painting. This LoRA is meant to complement the base model for xieyi-style (freehand brush style) figure work. The dataset focuses on xieyi-style depictions of Deities, Spirits, and Mortals.

While the ZITv1 version captures the stylistic features, material textures, and character depictions to a certain extent, **the composition and the logic of the lines still fall short of the mark**. I hope future versions will show significant improvement in these areas.
